How Does Merchantrade Money Keep Your Account Safe?
At Merchantrade Money, we are committed to providing you with a secure and convenient platform that you can use to manage and spend over 20 major currencies through an eWallet and Visa prepaid card. Our investment in security is continuous, and we take proactive steps to protect your account from unauthorized access.
Extra Measures for Enhanced Security
While we work tirelessly to keep your account safe, there are proactive steps you can take to secure your account.
- Unique Password: Set a unique, secure password that you use exclusively for Merchantrade Money. This makes it more difficult for hackers to gain unauthorized access.
- Transaction Security: All transactions performed using the Card are secured through a One-Time-PIN (OTP) for online transactions that use 3D-Secure or a Personal Identification Number (PIN) for Card terminal chip-reader transactions and ATM transactions. For contactless transactions, a single or cumulative daily purchases amounting to RM250 can be transacted on the Card.
PIN: A Safer Payment Option
To ensure enhanced protection against fraud due to lost or stolen Cards, we recommend that you use a PIN instead of signature to authorize your transaction. Since both the Card and PIN are required to make a transaction, it is crucial to keep your PIN confidential. Should you be aware that your card PIN has been compromised, you can stop unauthorized access by immediately blocking your Card. This can be done in two ways:
- Launch the Merchantrade Money app and click on “Block Card” under the Card Settings menu
- Contact our Customer Service Help Desk and ask to block your card.

Whichever way you opt to block your card, do notify Merchantrade Money immediately to notify our team that your Card PIN has been compromised.
